{"id":3277,"date":"2020-12-21T14:42:47","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T11:42:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.orgbalt.eu\/?page_id=3277"},"modified":"2021-01-21T10:12:35","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T07:12:35","slug":"demo-site-lvc302","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.orgbalt.eu\/?page_id=3277","title":{"rendered":"Demo site LVC302"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>CONVENTIONAL AFFORESTATION CONSIDERING SHORTER ROTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Potential benefits of afforestation:&nbsp;\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>reduced GHG emissions from soil;\u200b<\/li><li>accumulation of CO2\u00a0in living and dead biomass, soil and litter\u00a0and\u00a0replacement effect\u00a0of forest biofuel and harvested wood products;\u00a0\u200b<\/li><li>shorter rotation and more intensified management\u00a0ensures\u00a0higher yield and\u00a0replacement effect, as well as reduces carbon losses due to root rot and other\u00a0disturbances.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The LIFE\u00a0OrgBalt\u00a0project aims to implement a wide range of innovative organic soil management measures to demonstrate how these areas can be managed sustainably,\u00a0taking into account\u00a0economic, social\u00a0and climate aspects. 16 project demonstration sites have been established in Latvia and Finland.
