{"id":3333,"date":"2020-12-21T15:23:33","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T12:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.orgbalt.eu\/?page_id=3333"},"modified":"2021-02-03T19:12:58","modified_gmt":"2021-02-03T16:12:58","slug":"demo-site-lvc312","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.orgbalt.eu\/?page_id=3333","title":{"rendered":"Demo site LVC312"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FOREST REGENERATION (CONIFEROUS TREES) WITHOUT RECONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGE SYSTEMS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Potential benefits of forest regeneration with coniferous trees without&nbsp;reconstruction of drainage systems:&nbsp;\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Reduced GHG emissions from soil due to improvement of water\u00a0regime by mounding and establishment of network of shallow\u00a0furrows to drain exceeding surface water<\/li><li>Reduction of risks associated with natural disturbances in forests with\u00a0wet organic soils<\/li><li>Accumulation of CO2\u00a0in living and dead biomass, soil and litter and\u00a0replacement effect of forest biofuel and harvested wood products\u200b<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The LIFE\u00a0OrgBalt\u00a0project aims to implement a wide range of innovative organic soil management measures to demonstrate how these areas can be managed sustainably,\u00a0taking into account\u00a0economic, social\u00a0and climate aspects. 16 project demonstration sites have been established in Latvia and Finland.
