{"id":3875,"date":"2021-09-16T08:27:06","date_gmt":"2021-09-16T05:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.orgbalt.eu\/?p=3875"},"modified":"2021-09-16T08:29:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-16T05:29:46","slug":"life-orgbalt-experts-participated-in-technology-and-innovation-festival-in-latvia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.orgbalt.eu\/?p=3875","title":{"rendered":"LIFE OrgBalt experts participated in technology and innovation festival in Latvia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>On September 4, 2021, at the Technology and innovation festival Mehatrons 2021 in Jelgava, Latvia, the LIFE OrgBalt experts &#8211; researchers from the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies &#8211; presented the LIFE OrgBalt project and explained one of the project\u2019s demonstration sites. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scientists introduced demonstration site where possibility of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from organic soils is being explored by\u00a0 installation of controlled drainage in the lawn, maintaining elevated groundwater levels throughout the growing season. More information about all project demonstration sites &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orgbalt.eu\/?page_id=2375\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"HERE. (opens in a new tab)\">HERE.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scientists also demonstrated various devices used in research activities, such as groundwater level meter, multi-parameter water quality probe, water conductivity sensor, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIFE OrgBalt is implemented by eight partners from five EU Member States \u2013 Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and Germany. The project unites public administration institutions, scientific and non-governmental organisations.
