On September 25, 2020 – LIFE OrgBalt demonstrated GHG emission measurement methodology in organic soils to almost 600 participants of the annual forestry event “Forestry afternoon” which is organized by Latvian State Forest Research Institute “Silava”.
During the event, participants were able to get acquainted with various aspects of forestry science and participate in creative activities at various educational stations.
LIFE OrgBalt provided an educational station “Demonstration of Greenhouse Gas Emission Measurements from Peat Soil”. In it, LIFE OrgBalt demonstrated how GHG emissions are measured and the equipment used, as well as presented the project objectives, results to be achieved and their expected impact organic soil management planning.
